Intro

Starting your own business is a rough road, but oh so satisfying. When you love what you do, and there is a viable need for what you know and do, you can’t go wrong. What do I do? I’m an EMC Consultant. EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) is what everyone who employs wireless devices wants; the absence of EMI (electromagnetic interference). Unfortunately, EMI is everywhere. Finding it when it interferes is what I do.

There is something to be said about being your own boss, and in spite of the financial bumps in the road, it is a breath of fresh air. The ideas running through my head no longer need to be editorialized by corporate lawyers, and they are all owned by me now.

I love what I do for a living, but more than that, I love helping others. The decisions I make are always motivated by how much I can give back to those who need me. It is a fundamental part of me that has always driven my performance while working for other companies, as well as most of my personal relationships over the years. It is what drives me now.

The other part of me continually searches for ways to do things better, faster, and cheaper, without sacrificing quality. I am, essentially, a perfectionist. And, as a perfectionist, we are our harshest critic. To gain our own approval, we must come as close to perfect as possible. I’m sure you know someone like that. It’s a difficult path for us, but once you learn to use it to your advantage, it becomes an asset.

Blogs are an avenue of sharing with others, and learning from them as well. Here I can share experiences, ideas, and thoughts about the work I do. I look forward to the comments that will offer expanding threads into new innovations.

Be patient with me as I massage the look of this blog, and add relevant information about me. Check out my business website for more details about what I do. Some of the things I plan to write about here include the many ways of managing an environment for the prevention of EMI. It can’t all be prevented, but much of it can.

So come back often. Please post comments or questions. Those, above all, will help me share what will help you the most.
